Welcome to Bassleer Biofish

Bassleer Biofish is a Wholesaler of ornamental tropical & coldwater fish, invertebrates, aquarium plants and fish care products from Aquarium Münster.

We are the producer of the high quality ornamental fish food "Biofish Food & Biofish Food Forte and the new "Biofish Food Chlorella". The company BASSLEER BIOFISH was founded in Belgium(B 2235 Westmeerbeek), in 1995, by Dr. Gerald Bassleer and his wife Angélique Gillhaus.

Our fish house has 1000 aquaria with each an individual filtering system and 10 trained and experienced employees. We have large stock of Tetras, Guppies, Platies, Xiphos, Cichlids, Goldfish, Catfish, Gouramies, Shrimp, Lobster, Snails and many other aquarium fish.

We have weekly deliveries with our heated vans to the shops in Belgium and French. We do not sell to the public.

Dr.Gerald Bassleer gives training and consultancy on fish health management and good practices in the fish house.

We offer Fishes from Congo, directly from the source in Kinshasa/Congo to all major airports in the world.

Dr. Gerald Bassleer, has 30 years of experience and he is consultant for the aquarium fish industry (Fish Health Managment and Biosecurity implementation), to develop healthy business for breeders, farmers, exporters, importers and aquarium shops.

He has worked for major wholesalers in the world: 1977-1981=Aquaria Antwerp (Belgium),     1981-1985 = O'Hare Tropical Imports(Chicago,USA), 1985-1991 = Ruinemans Aquarium (The Netherlands) and 1991-1994 = Aquarium Glaser (Germany)

He is also author of several books & software on fish diseases, diagnosis and treatment: a good tool to solve diseases caused by following infections: bacterial, parasitic and fungal.

Wellknown is: "The New Illustrated Guide to Fish Diseases" (bood & DVDrom

Currently he is the President of OFI (Ornamental Fish International=http://www.ofish.org)
